Eagerness
on Jan 20 in Journal by SteveHi church!
In Galatians 2:10, Paul gives us a glimpse into a powerful Christian characteristic: eagerness. The context is about looking after the poor, but the concept is bigger than any one agenda.
The Greek word (for you scholarly types) is “spoudazo” and it’s full meaning is “to exert oneself, make every effort, give diligence, make haste, be zealous, strain every nerve and further the cause assiduously”. Wow – that’s a mouthful!
But here’s the real centre of it: this is talking about a Christian perspective that a) sees a need, b) promptly does something about it and c) follows through to make sure it’s done.
When we talk about living a life that glorifies God, ”eagerness” is one of those key qualities that ensures that. We love doing church with you!
For your best life,
Ps. Steve and Gail
