C3 Hamilton, New Zealand
Loving God.
Loving Life.
Loving People.
Reaching Out!
In March 1996, a group of like-minded friends decided that God wanted a contemporary church in the heart of the city.
These 12 adults and eight kids met in Steve and Gail Hirst's garage for three months, figuring out what things they liked about churches and what things they didn't like so much...!
The result? C3 Hamilton, a church where:
We love making and keeping friends...
We believe we've maintained a friendly culture where strangers are made welcome. We have a coffee break in the middle of the morning service because hanging out with people is important to us. (Someone said C3 stands for "constant coffee consumption" - not true!)
We love kids...
The first paid staff member was our crèche supervisor - still with us and doing a great job. We have 'Church for Kids ' (5-12 year olds) every Sunday morning and a Primal Youth Church (13-18 year olds) every Thursday night. Both rock!
We love young people...
We have a meeting for 18-30 year olds called Change every Wednesday night.
We love rock'n'roll music...
...so that's how we worship!
Above all else:
We exist to make Jesus famous in our sphere of influence.
